Pastor of Holiness House of Prayer - Robert Ian May the husband to Sheena and father to Taegyn was raised in Magoffin County all of his life. The grandson of a woman preacher, Sister Pauline Slone. The nephew of a faithful praying aunt, Judy. Which he credits often, them and his mother Jerry for the upbringing of Church and the acknowledgement of the Power of God and the Truth of the Cross. He felt the call of God on his life at the young age of 15. Uncertainty, temptation and ignorance led him down a road of being a rebellious young man. In search of things of the world to fill a void that fleshly, he didn't want to admit he was aware of. Thankfully, as the Bible teaches us in the book of Proverbs, He was trained up in the way that he should go. As of September 2014, he has not departed from it. The Lord used Sheena, his wife to shine a light on the darkness that lurked beneath the surface. Her invitation to join her in a church service led to a journey long awaited. Making his way back into the Will of God and accepting the call that God had on his life to preach His word came at a time when the enemy tried to cause the materialistic side of this world to put a halt on his obedience to the voice of the Lord. Pastor Robert was all in at this point and their was no turning back. Having felt the possibility of never having the opportunity of salvation again, he believed this was his final time to endure the race set before him to ensure that in the end Heaven is his home. The anointing that the Lord placed on Pastor Roberts life began to create a stir from the enemy. Though, walking in the spirit was easier said than done on some days; the end reward far outweighs defeat. Pastor Robert began preaching in the home church he and his family attended, and at the local nursing home, on the local television station, and various revivals and churches nearby. Many credited his straight shooting, bold, word for word bible quoting style similar to saints of old, such as the late Brother Ronald Puckett and the late Brother Arthur Cole. With time, God gave Pastor Robert a dream. In that dream he saw a vacant lot that resembled a log yard. The Lord spoke to him in this dream, saying "I am building you a church.' He never spoke of this dream to anyone but his wife. The Lord revealed to him that it would take effort on his part but he accepted and he was willing to say Here Am I, Lord if it was what God really had in store, but knowing it was Gods timing, assumed it would be far off. After this dream, strangers began calling him Pastor. He and his wife just shrugged it off or corrected them. It was so intense that prophesies began from people who knew nothing of the sort. Confirmation after confirmation until one day he pulled in to the parking lot of a vacant building under the direction of the Lord he got out of his vehicle, looking through the window, those prophecies began to come to pass. He saw renovation work being done, carpet and pews the colors that mere strangers had spoke to he and his wife, and many other things. The owner of the building happened to be out back working still. Conversation led to more confirmation and the building known to locals as 'the old store front' or 'Buster Blanton building' is where Holiness House Of Prayer resides to this day. Pastor Robert believes that their is no other way in spreading the gospel other than telling it like it is, as the Bible teaches. Some say he preaches too hard but he sees no other way but the plain truth. You know the old saying Sugar-coated preaching leads to truth decay, afterall. Another dream that Pastor Robert received from the Lord during this time was of himself inside of a kitchen with a ladle and a large pot distributing what seemed to be soup unto every one that was standing in what appeared like an unending line. As he woke up, he began praying for the interpretation and understanding of this dream the Lord began to instruct him as He did Peter in scripture, to feed His sheep. He remembers thinking with the mass amount of people and what small portions it seemed that he had, he would be unable to do the task and while in deep prayer the Lord spoke to him and reminded him of the 5 loaves and 2 fish what are they among so many? With the Holy Ghost reminding him that what little we have, if God blesses it, it is able to be distributed to a multitude. Even though we may feel inadequate to do the task that is set before us at times, it is a constant reminder that we can do all things through Christ. Which is how Pastor Robert has walked daily striving to do all that he can with what he has as he is instructed by the Lord. As a Pastor, he believes in feeding his flock that the Lord has entrusted him with directly and strictly from the King James Version Bible. He is very passionate about prayer, study and worship and reminds the church to make time for each of them daily. He strives to shine love and a light and be there for every soul that he possibly can be. His love and devotion to Jesus and the Church has proved itself many times over. The testimonies and prayers answered inside of the Church have been not a few. It is his faithful prayer to the Lord that the members of Holiness House Of Prayer and all that he comes in contact with to keep focus on the cross of calvary, on the blood that was shed for our sins and that we strive to be all that the Lord desires of us daily to the best of our abilities. He believes in pushing individuals to their fullest potential in Christ and helping those who are not covered by the blood, come to know their potential in Christ and His saving grace.
